On June 23, 2004, Maggie Van Ostrand was interviewed by sportscaster Ed Daniels of ABC-TV, Channel 26, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was attending the National Society of Newspaper Columnists conference.

Ed Daniels asked Maggie all about the grass-roots movement to get Seabiscuit on a U.S. Stamp, and her thoughts comparing the legendary Seabiscuit to the great Smarty Jones.

He asked Maggie how Seabiscuit fans could write in to help get the Biscuit on a stamp.

In New Orleans, petitions can be obtained at the Fairgrounds coffee shop where the jockeys hang out. The coffee shop is aptly named Fair Grinds.

  • Seabiscuit's Home: Willits
